"Horrible Drive... Do not buy" 2009-11-08
By William Evans (DC)
I just bought the 1TB Elite and it sucks! The software provided is a CPU hog. I have a quad core processor and it's at 95% because of the software... ridiculous. Also, the software boots as a disk an can't be removed (correction: WD realized how bad this was so they made a firmware update that hides the disk). If you choose not to use their horrible software, then the e-label doesn't work. So stupid. I paid extra for features that I can't use.

"My Itunes Library Hard Drive (Apple Computer)" 2009-10-16
By Anthony D. Hunt (San Antonio, TX)
I purchased the 1TB Book Elite for use as my primary external hard drive to store my Itunes media library. Hooked it up yesterday and reformatted to MAC OS Extended (Journaled). Then I changed my Itunes library location setting to the new hard drive and used Organize Library in Itunes to move all my medial to the new location. I have about 400GB, so it took a couple hours. Checked it out this morning - everything is working great. The "always on" changeable label is a neat feature. Cosmetically the hard drive is sharp. The drive is also much quieter that an older 1TB Maxtor hard drive I purchased about a year ago. I will not use the back up software that came with the drive (will continue to use Time Machine). No issues or problems - easy setup . I'll provide an update in a couple week.
